Following up from our banger of a gig with Gary Beck, it gives us much pleasure to be bringing yet another talented techno pioneer from bonny Scotland to the dark dwellings of Nevermind Small Club.
Harvey McKay is one of the hottest names in the techno scene of recent and rightly so!  His driving yet soulful sound has gained him global recognition that has seen him play on some of the biggest line ups from his home town of Glasgow to the massive Ultra Music festival.
His production work, spanning across labels like Soma, Cocoon and Drumcode, is a musical statement in itself, showing that Harvey is a key contributor to the underworld techno sound of today.
Once again, this is a very rare opportunity to see one of the best this side of the hemisphere with limited tickets available from Megatix.

It is an absolute pleasure to be bringing GARY BECK back to Perth!

Having brought him over to Australia for the first time a couple of years ago, we had a lot of folk asking if we had intended to bring him back any time soon after our packed out show we did with him at Jack Rabbit Slims…..erm…..YES!!!

With his hectic touring schedule taking him all over the world, the Glaswegian born producer and DJ is now an established and respected figure within the global techno scene.

When he is not playing in the depths of dark clubs like Fabric (London) and Sub Club (Glasgow), he can be found on the line ups for big techno festivals including Awakenings and Timewarp, slamming out his unique sound that has captured the ears and hearts of techno lovers since 2007.

Beck’s production skills were first scooped up by non other than Ritchie Hawtin and since then he has released on Soma, Drumcode, Suara, Cocoon and many more….a resume of sound that is not to be sniffed at!

On top of his weekly jet setting, BEK Audio is his own label that he has used as a concrete musical platform to release production work that carries that sound with it, with releases from himself, along with
artists like Mark Broom, Harvey McKay, Speedy J and the legendary Slam.

For this event we are moving in to the dark confides of Nevermind Small Club….lights will be down low and the sound will be up high…..the courtyard will be used for cool off purposes 😉

Local support on this evening of techno will be solidly supplied by;

Frazer Devine
Jane Jaya Ayres

With Perth being one of only two stops over this part of the world….this is another rare opportunity to hear one of the best……if PROPER techno gratification is what you are after…..this is it.

Taste-maker, label boss, producer, DJ, remixer. Jamie Odell wears many hats and wears them well.

Under his Jimpster alias, he has become one the most revered deep house producer/DJs operating on the scene today. His esteemed labels Freerange and Delusions Of Grandeur continue to help break incredible new music and equally impressive acts such as Detroit Swindle, Tornado Wallace and Session Victim. From his UK base, Jimpster has inadvertently become a standard-bearer and custodian of the authentic house sound, and carries this flag to the four corners of the world.
As he puts it: “House music has been my first love and passion since hearing ‘Strings Of Life’ for the first time at The Essex Barn in 1988 and I’m still inspired by the memories I have of that period when the whole electronic music scene was so fresh and exciting as well as being really broad and eclectic. One minute we were listening to Lil Louis’ ‘The Story Continues’ and the next, freaking out to ‘Radio Babylon’ by Meat Beat Manifesto. Every track seemed to have its own strong identity and unique sound and I guess that ethos is something I try and carry through to my A&R for the labels as well as my DJ sets. Certainly as a producer I am still striving to produce that perfect house track which will stand the test of time in the same way that those early classics have. The blueprint is simple: to inject life, depth, soul, sincerity and attitude. This is what sets the major players apart from the pretenders. That challenge is what keeps me focused and inspired 25 years on and I’m sure it will keep me on my toes for many years to come.”

Substance with NORM DE PLUME @ The Sewing Room

Buzzing to be back in the basement in February as we set to get deep down and discofied with Mr NORM DE PLUME!!

The London based producer returns to P-Town, bringing with him his unique yet warped, deep disco sound, and we can’t wait to have him back!!

His releases on Kolour Ltd, Delusions of Grandeur as well as his very own Plumage label are true testament to the cool filtered sound that he has honed and perfected since the late nineties, playing in Europe, South America, Asia as well being a regular fixture at the DoG parties in his hometown of London.

A passionate vinyl enthusiast, most of Norm’s sets are played with wax only, so expect some deep filtered house to disco edits leading up to the more delightfully obscure, original disco 12’s.

It’s all set for what will be an audio delight down in the depths of the cauldron of dance…..The Sewing Room.

and the lovely LEE WILSON ♥

SUBSTANCE @ The Sewing Room

SUBSTANCE – the most important or essential part of something.

We are delighted to announce a new project that we have been working on for some time, SUBSTANCE.

Underground house music naturally belongs where it began, played out on a quality sound rig within the basement spaces across the world, where like minded people gathered to enjoy quality sounds that would have them stay in these dimly lit, low ceilinged spaces till the early hours.

The Sewing Room is not only a perfect, but essential addition to Perth’s music scene.

An intimant and intriguing vault like venue, situated slap bang in the city centre at the end of Wolf Lane, has very much all the grandness at the entrance, but plays down the glamour
as soon as you are downstairs as you find yourself in a space that is MADE for music, ALL types of music.

SUBSTANCE is all about quality underground house music, no classics, no anthems or current trends.
True house music is made up of something so much more, and our choice of well travelled music selectors for the evening know the ethos and sound of what a basement party is all about……

We keep it STRICTLY under the ground.

Electronic dance music DJ Dr Packer is set to hit the decks at Coast Port Beach!

He’s one of Perth’s electronic dance music pioneers with 27 years of studio experience under his belt, and now Dr Packer is ready to play Perth’s best beach club.

Dr Packer is the alias of WA local Greg Packer who boasts countless DJ awards, five international DJ tours and his own record label ‘Interphase Music’. In 2013, Dr Packer played around with Soul, Funk & Disco records to bring out an incredibly iconic sound. Within months, he’d topped the Juno Sales Charts and had been signed to a number of labels .

His reworks have caught the attention of Bootsy Collins, Joey Negro & Defected Records and Robert Owens. Joey Negro also let Dr Packer loose on his back catalogue material including his Destination Boogie and Superfunkanova albums.

In 2015, Dr Packer was named number one in the Traxsource Top 20 Nu-Disco and placed fourth in 2016. Defected Records have also scouted Dr Packer and requested remixes for the Ibiza, Croatia & London Ministry of Sound.

RON BASEJAM (Crazy P) @ Coast

Coast Port Beach present Ron Basejam (Crazy P)

Crazy P….. one of the most prolific and worldly recognised indie dance
projects to come out of the mid-nineties.
Their reputation for producing spacey, melodic sounds has seen them release six studio albums and countless singles, always maintaining a very laid back coolness of constant quality, something that is always respected with their huge fanbase here in Australia.

Co-founder, Jim Baron, aka Ron Basejam, definitely helped cement the foundations of their success.
Half of the original production brains, his trademark deep disco synth throbs can clearly be heard in his own material which has been recognised on household labels like Future Boogie, Classic, Peppermint Jam and the uber cool print, House Of Disco.

Slo-mo, soulful electronica, along with deeper grooves partnered with smile enduring vocals, has seen Jim become a true pioneer of his musical craft.
With his trax being respected and played out by djs as diverse as MAGDA to GREG WILSON and GILES PETERSON, we are guaranteed an audio delight, perfectly suited to the sun drenched surroundings of COAST.
